HISTORY:
Pamela D’Occhio is the founder and owner of Deafinitions & Interpreting, LLC. She founded this company in 2005 based on a strong work ethic and an even stronger desire to advocate for deaf individuals to have equal access in the community. Pamela learned first hand, and at a young age, that being deaf meant having to overcome many hurdles. Having both parents who are deaf, Pamela became their ears and voice in a variety of challenging situations. She knew that without her assistance they would be left to struggle to communicate on their own.
With the advent of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990, companies were now bound by law to provide effective communication for deaf individuals. In 2005, with a background of many years of interpreting under her belt, Pamela founded Deafinitions & Interpreting, LLC. She now had a platform from which to empower those who are deaf to be respected, self reliant individuals; equal in every sense to their hearing counterparts. She has steadily developed a reputation for not only serving the needs of the Deaf, but also for her passionate attention to detail in striving to make every client completely satisfied with the level of service they receive.
